Danube Bend Tour (Visegrád, Esztergom)

Tour Description:

Full-day tour to Danube Bend, a part of Hungary where the River Danube turns to south, creating a beautiful landscape. This area has been historically and culturally very important. The tour includes a visit to the 3 most important settlements of the Danube Bend, Esztergom, Visegrád and Szentendre.

Esztergom is the religious centre of Hungary. Here we visit the Cathedral, the biggest Catholic Church of Hungary.






Visegrád was the capital of Hungary in the medieval times, and was a Renaissance centre during the reign of King Matthias in the 15th Century. Here we visit the Upper Castle, from where we can enjoy the panorama of the Danube Bend.



Szentendre is a tiny Mediterranean Style town 30 km north of Budapest. The town was founded by Serbians, but from the 19th century, due to its picturesque, narrow streets and special atmosphere, it has become an artist town. Upon arrival, lunch is included, then short walking tour in the town, visit in Margit Kovács Museum free time at leisure. Then transfer back to Budapest.
